Dallas, TX – Today, Young Conservatives of Texas (YCT) is sad to announce that two passionate YCT members working this summer for the Jon Francis campaign were involved in a tragic car accident. This unthinkable accident occurred late yesterday afternoon, just after 6:00 PM in Palo Pinto County, outside of Lipan, TX. The two Trinity University students were en route back to their hotel after finishing their shift knocking on doors and talking with voters. Neither the young man or the young woman involved survived.

“Please join us in lifting up the families in prayer over the weeks to come. As a Believer, I know that we were never meant to experience death. Today is a painful reminder that until the Resurrection, we will still see death come far too soon for many. Hold your loved ones close. I know I am today.” said Jon Francis.

“I am at a loss for words, this is completely heartbreaking across our entire organization. Life is very fragile and we must treasure the time we are granted. Our organization and chapters are extending our thoughts, prayers, and condolences to both families during this time.” said William Dominguez.

Both students involved were active members of the YCT chapter at Trinity University in San Antonio.

“To know that not only two of my members but two of my friends have passed away is heartbreaking. Both were fun, energetic, and always looking to help those around them and they will be sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers as well as those from everyone at the Trinity chapter goes out to their families and any others affected by this tragedy. As a Christian, I can have hope that they are able to find peace in the next life and be with other loved ones in heaven.” said Trinity University Chapter Chairman Nathan Darsch.
