Young Conservatives of Texas Endorse James White in HD 19
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 10, 2012
Austin, TX—Young Conservatives of Texas (YCT) announced today their endorsement of Representative James White for reelection to the Texas House of Representatives in District 19.
YCT praised Representative White for his efforts during the legislature’s 82nd session. White’s voting record placed him among the top conservatives in the Texas House and earned him an Honorable Mention on YCT’s ratings.
“The election in House District 19 offers a stark choice for conservative voters,” said Tony McDonald, YCT Senior Vice Chairman. “If voters want fresh, conservative leadership, they will reelect Representative James White. If they want to be represented by a career politician with multiple ethics issues who was ranked the 2nd most liberal Republican by a Rice University study, they will stick with Tuffy Hamilton.”
Representative White is being challenged by Tuffy Hamilton, who moved into the district after being paired with Representative Allan Ritter during redistricting.
“James White is a true conservative leader,” said Jeff Morris, YCT State Chairman. “Tuffy Hamilton moved into the district to attempt to beat out a conservative rather than staying home and running against RINO and former Democrat Allan Ritter. That should tell voters all they need to know about Hamilton.”
In response to the endorsement, Representative White said, “I’m honored to have the support and endorsement of Young Conservatives of Texas. Like me, they aren’t afraid to shake up the Austin political establishment because they know doing right by Texas taxpayers is more important than selling out to the liberal special interests that plague Austin.
