Austin, TX — Today, Young Conservatives of Texas (YCT) unveiled its legislative agenda and priorities for the upcoming session.

“We have high hopes for the 84th Legislative Session,” said YCT State Chairman Jeff Morris. “Our organization worked hard during the primary, runoff and general elections to ensure we had strong movement conservatives elected to all branches of government.”

Prior to each session, YCT puts together a list of items it would like to see either pass the legislature or get defeated.

“For the first time in years, our top agenda item, tuition deregulation, is a prominent issue in the media and has a good shot of passing,” continued Morris. “Our other big agenda item, concealed carry on campus, seems to have the momentum to pass as well.”

It is YCT’s hope that legislators will look at their agenda and use it for ideas when filing bills. The agenda can also serve as a good guide for legislators wondering how to vote on a particular issue.

The agenda can be viewed online, and a copy will be delivered to each legislative office towards the beginning of session.
