YCT Endorses Wayne Christian for Railroad Commissioner
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 28, 2013
Austin, TX – Young Conservatives of Texas (YCT) today announced their endorsement of former State Representative Wayne Christian for Texas Railroad Commissioner.
“Representative Christian was a champion of YCT’s priorities during his time in the Texas House,” said Jenna White, YCT’s Executive Director. “He was always considered the go-to legislator for passing priorities that conservatives value the most.”
During his time in Austin, Rep. Christian was known for bucking the establishment. He was consistently ranked amongst the top conservatives in the legislature and is one of only a few recipients of YCT’s ‘Torch of Freedom’ Lifetime Achievement Award.
From leading the fight against burdensome taxes and regulations to authoring legislation to preserve and protect innocent life, Representative Christian has earned the respect and admiration of conservative grassroots activists across the Lone Star State.
“Wayne Christian understands the important role energy production plays in the Texas Economy,” said YCT State Chairman Jeff Morris. “As a former Vice-Chairman of Regulated Industries and a multi-term member of the Energy Committee, Rep. Christian has the experience necessary to ensure our state preserves the Texas Miracle for generations to come.”
Private property rights are often the focal point of Railroad Commission decisions. Rep. Christian is a proven champion for private landowners, taking on the Trans-Texas Corridor as President of the Texas Conservative Coalition—and winning.
“Rep. Christian has long been a hero of the grassroots,” Morris continued. “Since announcing his intentions to become Texas’ next Railroad Commissioner, he has compiled an impressive list of over 150 endorsements from grassroots activists across the state. Today, YCT adds its voice to that list of supporters.”
