(Austin, TX) The Young Conservatives of Texas (YCT), a non-partisan grassroots political organization, announce their endorsement of Milton Rister for State Representative in Texas House District 20.

“The Young Conservatives of Texas are proud to support Milton Rister,” said Laura Elizabeth Morales, Senior Vice Chairman. “We believe Milton is an experienced conservative, with a proven record and will be a true conservative leader for the voters of District 20,” continued Morales.

Members of YCT endorse candidates based on personal interviews, extensive research and detailed questionnaires.“I am honored to receive this endorsement from such an energetic group of young conservatives,” Rister said. “I am a rock solid conservative, and if elected, I will invigorate Republicans and support measures to limit government spending, cut taxes, protect private property rights, defend the lives of the unborn and elderly, help pass voter ID legislation, and strengthen border security.”

Rister helped elect a Republican majority in the Texas House of Representatives. He served as chief-of-staff to Senator Jane Nelson. He was the director of research and senior advisor to Lt. Governor David Dewhurst. In 2004, he took the position of executive director of the Republican Party of Texas to assist in the elections and the National Convention. Most recently, he served as the executive director of the Texas Legislative Council, the agency that provides bill drafting, research, computing, and document distribution for the Legislature.

YCT, which was founded in 1980, issues the most respected ratings of the state legislature and is the only conservative group to have done so without interruption over the last 18 legislative sessions. YCT has chapters at the University of Texas at Austin, Baylor University, Texas State University, Stephen F. Austin State University, Texas Tech University and the University of Houston.
