YCT Endorse Representative Dan Flynn for Reelection
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 9, 2012
Austin, TX—Young Conservatives of Texas announced today their endorsement of Dan Flynn for State Representative in House District 2 (HD 2), which covers Hunt, Hopkins, and Van Zandt counties. Flynn has drawn a challenger in the Republican Primary.
“Representative Flynn has been a strong leader in the legislature on conservative issues,” said Jeff Morris, YCT State Chairman. “Conservatives in HD 2 should send Rep. Flynn back to Austin next session. We need his leadership on the issues of limited government, traditional values, and the right to life.”
Flynn has earned a spot on the group’s Historic Honor Roll for his consistently high scores on their ratings of the Texas Legislature. With a career score of 88, Representative Flynn has the seventh highest score amongst House members on the group’s ratings.
Flynn responded to the endorsement saying, “I am honored to receive this endorsement from Young Conservatives of Texas. YCT prides itself on getting young voters involved in the process and letting them know they can make a difference. This election is incredibly important for those who want Liberty, Fairness, Jobs, Smaller Government and Transparency in the Process and to hold to our conservative Texas values. I look forward to working with YCT to make a difference in District 2 and our state.”
“Representative Flynn’s voting record in the legislature is stellar,” added Tony McDonald, YCT Senior Vice Chairman. “He was one of only four representatives to score higher than a 90 on our legislative ratings last session.”
Flynn has represented Hunt, Rains, and Van Zandt counties for the past five legislative sessions.
