Austin, TX — Young Conservatives of Texas (YCT) is proud to announce its endorsement of Bob Yancy for Texas House District 14. YCT, the most active political youth organization in Texas, has been providing grassroots conservative leadership across the state for more than 30 years.
“We looked at all of the candidates and Bob Yancy was the proven conservative in the race,” said Tony McDonald, YCT’s Senior Vice Chairman. “YCT is very proud to endorse Bob Yancy in the House District 14 Special Election.”
Because of his background in the arena of healthcare in the private sector, YCT believes Yancy also possesses a set of expertise that will surely benefit the 83rd session of the Texas Legislature.
Mr. Yancy said, “I am proud to have the endorsement of the Young Conservatives in the race for Texas State Representative in District 14. It’s very encouraging that so many young people have taken an interest in proactively protecting their future and the future of Texas. I cannot thank our many student volunteers and the Young Conservatives of Texas enough for the tremendous support they have shown.”
Bob Yancy, a businessman and Texas A&M graduate, is running for Texas House District 14. The seat is being vacated by the Honorable Fred Brown after he served the district in seven sessions of the legislature. Governor Rick Perry has called for a Special Election on November 8th. House District 14 is in Brazos County and covers College Station.
Young Conservatives of Texas has been promoting conservatism at universities across the Lone Star State for over three decades. The state’s most active political youth organization, YCT is composed of hundreds of members and alumni who participate in the full spectrum of politics. YCT issues the most respected ratings of the Texas legislature and is the only conservative group to have done so without interruption over the past 19 legislative sessions.
