YCT 40th Annual Convention Delayed Due To Coronavirus

March 19, 2020

AUSTIN, TEXAS – Today, Young Conservatives of Texas Foundation (YCT) is deeply saddened to announce the 40th Annual Convention has been delayed due to the Chinese Coronavirus pandemic. The decision to postpone the convention was difficult, but the State Board of YCT feels a moral responsibility to preserve and protect the health of our members, their families, and the whole State of Texas. While we have not confirmed an alternative date at this time, we are exploring potential options and intend to hold the 40th Annual Convention later this year.

Although the convention is delayed, and most colleges in Texas have gone digital, our chapters will continue to hold their meetings online. We are also encouraging our members who are willing to volunteer in their communities and step up to help protect the most vulnerable during this time of need for our country.

“It upsets me that we will be unable to gather this spring to celebrate everything that YCT and especially this senior class have accomplished in the past year. The Class of 2020 spearheaded a rebirth of YCT across the state of Texas. During their time in YCT, we went from six chapters to twenty-two chapters across the state of Texas, making us the largest conservative college organization in Texas. We now have the most chapters on college campuses and the most active members. If it were not for the dedication of the Class of 2020, we would not have achieved this incredible growth and vitality. I am grateful for everything that the Class of 2020 accomplished and the sacrifices they made for our organization,” said Manfred Wendt, Executive Director of YCT.
