710 KURV Radio Launches Petition to Commute Sentences of Ramos and Compean

Blog / December 4, 2008

From a news release I received today:

Today 710 KURV joins the massive effort to petition President George W. Bush to commute the sentences of Border Patrol Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean before he leaves office.

710 KURV believes that these decorated agents have been punished enough for the shooting of an admitted and now convicted drug smuggling illegal alien.

President George W. Bush has already granted pardons to 14 individuals and commuted the sentences of two more.

710 KURV is asking you to sign our Ramos/Compean Commutation of Sentence Petition and join forces with national leaders such as Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA).“Ramos and Compean have been living in the torture of solitary confinement for almost two years for something they never should have been prosecuted for in the first place,” said Rohrabacher.

To get your name added to the petition, go to KURV.com and click on the Ramos/Compean Commutation of Sentence Petition.  You’ll also find a list of a number of locations in the community that will have petitions to sign, or just stop by the 710 KURV studios located at 1201 N. Jackson, Suite 900 in McAllen, TX.

710 KURV is the Rio Grande Valley’s only News/Talk radio station.
