AUSTIN — Young Conservatives of Texas (YCT) was pleased to present Comptroller Susan Combs with their Hero of the Taxpayer award at their 32nd Annual State Convention Saturday evening.

“Comptroller Combs has made it her personal mission to increase transparency in the finances of the Texas government,” said Jeff Morris, YCT State Chairman. “She is truly a hero to taxpayers who wish to see their money spent wisely and efficiently.”

Comptroller Combs gave the evening keynote address at the convention, where she spoke to many of YCT’s current members and alumni.

On receiving the award, “I am honored to receive this award. In this era of high national debt and deficits, transparency is critical to protecting our taxpayers”

Young Conservatives of Texas has been promoting conservatism at universities across the Lone Star State for over three decades.
